Laura Burke, LMFT

I am the owner and founder of Authentic Path Counseling. As a Connecticut Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Mental Health Coach, I am trained to view the individual, family, and couple through the relationship lens. I believe relationships impact behaviors, thoughts, and feelings and if we change how we interact with those closest to us, we will change how we think, feel and treat ourselves.

I also believe in the importance of holistic treatment. Often, a problem in one area of life creates a ripple effect. I use an eclectic approach to create a unique treatment plan for each client to help support their personal goals and create the skills needed to succeed.

On a personal note, when I’m not working, I’m usually out for a walk, taking in nature and listening to either music or a podcast. I really enjoy spending time with my wonderful husband, and my friends and family. Depending on the season, we take in the various seasonal activities and opportunities to celebrate holidays. Fall is my favorite season so apple picking and pumpkin picking are essential! I really enjoy making various goodies including homemade applesauce with freshly picked apples because it’s the best!

I also enjoy reading, working on puzzles, cross stitching (although it’s been a little bit), baking, practicing my daily Spanish lesson, listening to podcasts, and exploring new walking paths and trails. I personally find journaling and relying on the support of my mentor and coaching group strategies to keep me calm, collected, and happy.
